Una nit d’hivern, un home arriba al Sallent de Santa Pau. Ben aviat, el nouvingut rep l’encàrrec de fer classes a la Mar, una noia de tretze anys. La seva família és l’eix al voltant del qual giren totes les vides de la vall del Ser. “Aquesta nena es perdrà”, diu el seu avi, un home que té el do de trobar aigua sota terra i de donar ordres sense obrir la boca. Per esbrinar què vol dir perdre’s, haurem de recórrer els camins que uneixen les cases i les vivències dels habitants d’una vall on tothom hi arriba fugint d’alguna cosa i només es queden els que no han pogut anar-se’n. El foraster busca les històries soterrades com un saurí les vetes d’aigua, i es va fent un retrat de la vall i de la seva gent, del temps i del país, dels seus mites i d’ell mateix. |
